Peanut Allergy Information

We have several students who are allergic to peanuts & tree nuts.  A tree nut can be any of the following: macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, cashews, almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, chestnuts, beech nuts, hazel nuts, pine nuts, ginkgo nuts.  A tree nut is any nut that grows on a tree. 

This is a life-threatening allergy.  Within minutes of contact with peanuts, peanut products, or tree nuts, these students could have a severe allergic reaction that could lead to a trip to the emergency room & even death.

 

For the safety of all children, we are asking that you provide your child’s lunch and/or snacks from the list below:

  • Sandwiches:  Jelly, Cheese, Ham, Turkey, Bologna
  • Chef Boyardee Microwavable Cups (pre-heated & sent to school in a thermos)

Products that are safe and tree nut/ peanut-free for School Parties

 

  • When baking cupcakes or brownies for school parties, Betty Crocker and Pillsbury mixes and frostings are safe and peanut-free.  Please double check the ingredients to insure safety. 

 

  • Chicken Nuggets and French Fries from Wendy’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, and Hardee’s are safe. 

 

  • Domino’s, Little Caesar’s, CiCi’s, Pizza Hut’s, and Chucky Cheese’s pizza are all safe. 

 

  • Subway sub-sandwiches are safe.

 

  • Store-bought bakery cakes, cookies, & cupcakes from Freeman’s, Wal-Mart, Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, Sweet, etc. are not safe.
